Here’s a Dino 246. Nice, isn’t it? Also red and two doors

Here’s a Golf GTD. Neat, isn’t it? Also red and two doors

Kinja'd!!!

Now, let’s compare and contrast:

!!! UNKNOWN HEADER TYPE (MULTI-LINE BREAK?) !!!

- Not a Ferrari (it’s a Dino!)

- 190 bhp (probably optimistic)

- 0 to 60 in 7.2 sec

- 20 mpg if you’re lucky

- 1,080 kg

- worth more than most houses and rising while the bubble lasts

- seat belts

!!! UNKNOWN HEADER TYPE (MULTI-LINE BREAK?) !!!

- Not a Ferrari

- 184 bhp (probably pessimistic)

- 0 to 60 in 7.5 sec

- 50 mpg if you’re lucky

- 1,377 kg

- worth less than any house in the developed world in a place you would actually want to live and falling

- seat belts, air bags in every crevice, ABS, ESP and on and on....

One of those is a sporty personal car with heritage, and built with care and quality. The other is a shit pseudo-Ferrari.

You, Sir, type blasphemy.

Mind you given the choice and ignoring the price I’d go for the Golf too. No, I don’t care about Dieselgate.

Hmm, either in blue would suffice me. However I have loved the Dino since I first played eyes on one and it is one of my top 5 dream cars.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the Dino. But, given 1) the crap other Ferrari owners tend to throw at the Dino, 2) the price of keeping one running, versus another sports car of similar vintage, and 3) how good the fast VW diesels are today, I agree with you. (And I also don’t really care about Dieselgate, either.)
